Bridge Inspection

What it shows
- Cracking, spalling and exposed reinforcement
- Water staining, leaching and efflorescence
- Failed or blocked deck drainage
- Parapet, wingwall and abutment condition
- Damaged, missing or corroded fixings and bearings where visible
- Impact damage to parapets, edges and soffits
- Vegetation growth in joints, abutments and around the structure
- Failed joints, seals and expansion detail
- Scour and washout around abutments where visible
- Graffiti, fly-tipping and unauthorised access
Save time and money on bridge inspections — no lane closure, no under-bridge unit.
Get in touchWhere the money actually goes
On a bridge inspection, the inspection is rarely the expensive part. The traffic management is. So is the under-bridge unit, the permit, the possession, and the coordination needed to get all of it in the same place on the same day.
Which means routine visual checks get bundled into the formal inspection cycle and not much happens in between — even though most of what changes on a structure between inspections is visible, and would be obvious in a photograph.
Flying gives you that in-between record without any of the access cost. It does not replace a principal inspection, and it should not: it fills the gap between them, and it lets you scope a repair properly before you commit to the access needed to do it.

What you get
Save Time And Money On A Bridge Inspection
On a bridge, the inspection is rarely the expensive part. The traffic management is. So is the under-bridge unit, the permit, the possession and the coordination needed to get all of it in one place on one day.
Flying removes most of that for routine visual work. We photograph from a safe position nearby, usually without closing anything.
A survey covers, where line of sight allows:
- Each span, elevation and deck edge
- Soffits and bearing shelves
- Parapets, wingwalls and abutments
- Joints, seals and expansion detail
- Deck drainage and outfalls
- Scour, vegetation and unauthorised access

Scope The Repair Before You Book The Access
The most valuable use is often before the expensive visit rather than instead of it. Knowing exactly what is wrong, and where, means the access is booked once, for the work — not once to investigate and again to fix.
It also fills the gap between formal inspections, where most of what changes on a structure is visible and would be obvious in a photograph if anyone had one.
It does not replace a principal inspection, and it should not. Where a structure needs hands-on contact inspection, that is what it needs, and we will say so.

Questions
Can this replace a principal inspection?
No. A principal inspection is a defined, hands-on process carried out by an engineer. This gives you a detailed visual record between inspections, or evidence to scope a job before committing to the access.
Can you get under the deck?
Sometimes. It depends on the headroom, the geometry, whether we can keep line of sight and what is underneath. We will tell you what is achievable at your structure before you commit, not after.
Do I need a road closure?
Usually not, and avoiding one is much of the point. We fly from a safe position nearby, and we will tell you at the enquiry if a particular structure needs anything arranging.
Is it legal to fly over my property?
Yes, within the rules. We hold a CAA Operational Authorisation and every flight is planned against the airspace, the surroundings and the people on and around the site before we attend. If a site needs a permission we cannot get, we tell you at enquiry rather than on the day.
What happens if the weather is wrong on the day?
We move it. Wind and rain make for unsafe flying and soft, unusable pictures, and a survey you cannot rely on is worse than no survey. We watch the forecast and give you as much notice as we can.
Tell us about the site and we will take it from there
A site postcode and a sentence about what you need is enough to get started.
