Construction site with a tower crane photographed from the air beside open countryside

Aerial and ground photography of a live site, planned around what the pictures are for: the monthly report, the tender document, the handover file or the press release.

What it shows

  • Overall progress against the programme
  • The building in its setting and context
  • Detail of specific works, trades and elements
  • Site logistics, compounds, access and storage
  • A dated record of what the site looked like on a given day
  • Imagery that works in a report, a bid and on a wall

Save time and money by shooting for the document — one visit, several uses.

Photographs that survive the project

Most construction imagery has a short life. It is taken for one meeting, used once and never found again — partly because nobody decided what it was for, and partly because it was never edited into anything worth keeping.

The imagery that lasts is the imagery that was planned. A photograph shot for a bid document is framed differently from one shot for a progress report, and both are different from the one that ends up on the front of the brochure at the end.

Deciding that first costs nothing and changes everything about what comes back. It also means one attendance can serve three purposes rather than one.

Save Time And Money On Site Photography

Most construction photography is taken and then a use is found for it. Doing it the other way round costs nothing and changes everything, because a photograph for a monthly report and one for a bid document are not the same photograph.

Agreeing that first means one attendance can serve three purposes instead of one.

We shoot for:

  • Monthly progress and board reporting
  • Tender and bid submissions
  • Handover and project files
  • Marketing, brochures and websites
  • Press and stakeholder updates
  • Awards entries

Photographers First, Drone Operators Second

Our background is professional photography rather than aviation, and it shows in what comes back. The aircraft is a tripod that goes higher; the job is still photography.

That means attention to the things that are easy to get wrong — the time of day, the angle that gives the building some shape instead of flattening it, and knowing when to come back another day rather than deliver something grey.

Everything is edited and graded before it reaches you, and licensed for your own marketing, tender and internal use without a further fee.

Questions

Can you attend a live site?

Yes. We hold our own insurance, we will work to your induction and RAMS process, and we will fit around a lift or a pour rather than expecting the site to fit around us.

How quickly do the pictures come back?

Edited imagery is usually with you within a few working days. If you need something for a deadline, say so at the enquiry and we will work to it.

Do we own the photographs?

You get a full licence to use them for your own purposes without a further fee. We retain copyright, which is the standard arrangement in commercial photography.

What happens if the weather is wrong on the day?

We move it. Wind and rain make for unsafe flying and soft, unusable pictures, and a survey you cannot rely on is worse than no survey. We watch the forecast and give you as much notice as we can.

Do I need to be there?

No. We need safe access to somewhere to take off and land, and to know about anything on site we should avoid. You are welcome to be there if you would rather point things out in person.

Tell us about the site and we will take it from there

A site postcode and a sentence about what you need is enough to get started.

Provide a site postcode or boundary and a short description of the required output. We will confirm the deliverables, level of detail.

  • A site postcode is sufficient to price most instructions
  • Written quotation, in most cases the same working day
  • Deliverables and formats agreed at instruction
